An unbeaten half-century by Pragyan Paramita Mohanty went in vain as Odisha lost to Tripura by 72 runs in their opening league match of the East Zone Inter-State Under-19 Women One-day Cricket Tournament at JSCA International Cricket Complex in Ranchi today.
Electing to bat, Tripura rode on an unbeaten 94 (105 balls, 4x9) by Rima Chakraborty to make 213 for five in the stipulated 50 overs. Chasing 214 for victory, Odisha were restricted to 141 for eight. Pragyan Paramita Mohanty remained unbeaten on 55 (109 balls, 4x7). Odisha skipper Swagatika Rath made a breezy 25 with the help of four fours and one six. Winners Tripura gained five points, while Odisha settled with one point.
